AeroKids is a free flight school for students in grades 3 to 8. There are no accounts and no ads, and we don't sell or share anything about anyone.
Playing on your own
Your first name, grade, plane color, lessons, scores and controller setup are saved only in this browser, on this computer. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clearing the browser's site data erases it.
Playing with a class code
If your teacher gives you a class code, AeroKids sends two kinds of information to our database:
- For your class leaderboard: your first name and last initial, your best coin chase score and how many lessons you've finished. Only people with your class code can see it.
- So you can carry on from another computer: your progress (lessons finished, quiz and coin scores, check scores and plane color), saved with a two-digit pilot passcode. Only your teacher and the person who runs AeroKids can see the passcodes.
- For measuring learning: whether each answer on the pre-flight check, the post-flight check and the lesson quizzes was right. These answers are stored with a random number made by your browser, not with your name, so nobody can tell whose answers they are. Only the person who runs AeroKids can see them, as class totals.
We never collect full last names, email addresses, birthdays, photos or where you live. The database is run by Supabase, and the website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like all websites, they see your computer's internet address when it connects, but AeroKids doesn't store it.
The camera yoke
If you fly by holding an object in front of your camera, the video is processed on your own device and is never recorded or sent anywhere.
Removing information
Teachers can ask us to remove a name from a leaderboard, or a whole class and its answers. Because the answers aren't stored with names, we can remove a class's answers but can't find one student's answers.
